While some Quebecers continue to question the need to switch to an EV to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, others doubt the government’s ability to rapidly develop a network of charging stations to meet the growing demand.
Our mandate was to inform and reassure the public about the province’s planned expansion of this network by 2030.
Driving across Quebec in an EV is no longer the challenge it was a few years ago.
By showing charging stations in all sorts of locations and landscapes, our aim was to demonstrate that EV drivers can now get anywhere with confidence, thanks to the broad network of charging stations under development. The idea was to encourage motorists to switch to EVs faster...while respecting the speed limit, of course.
Accordingto a Leger survey, 27% of Quebecers have seen the campaign.
Whil ethere’s still work to be done, it’s encouraging to note that more respondents who were exposed to the campaign before taking the survey (45%) than those who weren’t (29%) are confident that the government will be able to meet EV charging needs by 2030.
